Walk Ado Ekiti streets without security; see if you won't be stoned, Fayose's aide dares Fayemi

Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has challenged the Minister for Steel and Minerals Resources Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to walk the streets of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital without security men and see whether he won’t be stoned by angry people of Ekiti State whose money he looted during his tenure as governor. Olayinka said; “As governor, Fayemi failed Ekiti people and as a minister, he is also failing Ekiti people because up till today, he cannot point to one benefit Ekiti has derived from having him as minister of Mines and Steel Development despite the numerous solid minerals in the State.” While reacting to comment by Fayemi that the public should wait and see who will go to jail between him and Fayose, and that he had have been out of office and still moving free, but Fayose won’t be able to walk free on the streets after losing immunity, Olayinka challenged Fayemi to subject himself to the court of...

Youths caution against politicizing Olukere's detention over alleged involvement in murder

The Ikere Ekiti Youths Vanguard has cautioned politicians against attempt to make political capital out of the alleged murder case against the Olukere of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Ganiyu Obasoyin. According to the youths spokesperson, Bayo Ogunleye, the attack on Olukere's hotel had no political link, it was a business disagreement between a lodger in the hotel and the management. They said there was no how anyone can defend the Olukere's leading "boys" from Ikere Ekiti to Ado Ekiti on Christmas day to carry out a reprisal attacks on those who attacked his hotel. It is demeaning for a holder of a traditional office like the Olukere to have led thugs all the way from Ikere to Ado Ekiti, not to talk of supervising attacks on anyone. The youths said further that since armed men of the State Anti Robbery Squad were said to be present,  it should not have been the duty of Olukere and boys to take any action at the scene of the attacks that led to the death of one per...

Humility of a loyal Professor

28th December, 2017 Alonge Olufemi Alonso "Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real"- Thomas Merton. As I was pondering on the reasons my town, Ilogbo-Ekiti, was sidelined again in the present political permutation in our local government, I was imbued with a lot of ideas on the humility and loyalty of Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Professor Kolapo Olusola. Just like Mignon McLaughlin said; " The proud man can learn from humility, but he will be proud of it". Thus, I am presenting this piece as my Christmas gift to our young people around and to those who are fond of boasting about their material and educational feats to learn from the gentility of a professor who is 100% loyal to his boss. No doubt, Ekiti values education but if formal education alone is the yardstick to measure who should be in power, Ekiti State would have been governed by at least two or three professors since the state was carved out of Ondo State in 1996. Let me say if ...

Snippets from the December 2017 Edition of #MeetYourGovernor

I greet you my people at home. A ku Odun, A Ku iyedun, emi wa a se pupo. I thank you all for the opportunity given me to serve you. If I had the money, I would have visited every home as a father Christmas. Making me happy is the best way to impress my mother, little kids cherish this gesture, my reason for reaching out to about 100,000 kids in Ekiti is to make their mothers happy. From Wednesday, my people in the stomach infrastructure office will be moving round town to give some of our people Xmas rice. All these are in a bid to make our people happy. In my first term, I pay workers' salary on the 2nd of every month, I left #10.4 billion in the coffers of Ekiti when I left, I came back in 2014 to a deluge of indebtedness. Between October 2011 and September 2013, Fayemi got #46b from the excess crude account. I have not borrowed a kobo in the name of Ekiti since I took over. Those lying that I borrowed #56b are only suffering from epilepsy. I have received #4.7...

The governor used occasion of the budget presentation to state precisely when ongoing projects...

Who will rescue Deji Adeyanju?

5th December, 2017 Alonge Olufemi Alonso It will just be a waste of time and energy if I go to Dr. Samuel Omotosho of Ekiti State House of Assembly to intimate him on the ill- condition of our brother from Kogi State. Alternatively, I have been thinking of what I can do to persuade a non partisan and a respected physician, Dr. Adeoye Olusegun to come to the aids of this brother. This young man is seriously in need of help and from my end; the only thing I can do to assist him at this crucial stage is to seek for a medical doctor who will assist him in regaining his lost brain. Being a Director of New Media of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the administration of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, a lot has been heard about Prince Deji Adeyanju before I met him for the first time in May 2016 at Port Harcourt during the aborted national convention of PDP. Then, he was contesting for the position of the Deputy National Publicity Secretary. Then, he was still with his sens...
