Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has described Nigerian youths as the best in the world, lamenting that the under privileged among them have had to struggle hard to make it in an environment without viable and equal opportunities. The first female council boss in Ekiti State and the current Commissioner 1, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Chief (Mrs) Tosin Ajisafe Aluko has expressed joy over her appointment as the Matron of Ekiti Women Emancipation Movement. The Executive Chairman of Ido/Osi Local government, Hon Prince Tunde Aladegbami, has condemned an attack in Ifaki, Ekiti State on Thursday evening, which led to the death of a police officer. In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Ojo Owoduni Femi Omoifaki on Thursday, Prince Aladegbami, said he was saddened by the incident. The Chairman, who described the incident as “despicable” and the perpetrators as “cruel individuals,” said there can never be any valid grounds or rationale behind such violence that has left family without their loved ones, and one more community in grief and shock. Wife of Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Janet Olusola Eleka has said that Ekiti women will be trusted with political power if room could be given for continuity in the state. Mrs. Olusola made the remarks on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti during the inauguration of Ekiti Women Emancipation Movement, a group formed to promote and advocate for the interest of women and to enlighten Ekiti women on the need to participate fully in politics. A member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Jeje has joined Ekiti people in passing a strong message to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to allow Ekiti people decide who they want as their leader and forget about rigging the July 14 election for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Jeje made the statement on Sunday while hosting some youths from Ido/Osi Constituency II in Ayetoro-Ekiti. The youths who were all loyalists of PDP expressed their concern over the noise of the main opposition party in the state that INEC has agreed to rig the election in favour of APC. Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has said he is supporting his deputy, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, because he has been instrumental to the unprecedented achievement recorded by his administration in education. He said such a feat must be sustained after his tenure.
