The first female council boss in Ekiti State and the current Commissioner 1, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Chief (Mrs) Tosin Ajisafe Aluko has expressed joy over her appointment as the Matron of Ekiti Women Emancipation Movement.
The former council boss said she was shocked at the unexpected honour bestowed on her by the movement yesterday during the official inauguration of the group.
She commended the brains the movement, especially the Co-ordinator, Mrs. Adenike Adedayo for her ability to mobilize and coordinate virtuous women across the sixteen local government areas of the state and promised to give the movement necessary support.
Mrs. Aluko said she will never run away from association of women that has foresight like Ekiti Women Emancipation Movement.
"One of the type of associations that I like to associate myself with is a group like this.The fact that the movement is one of the formidable groups formed to market Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka amongst Ekiti women; I will make sure I do everything at my disposal to promote the movement", Mrs. Aluko said.
Speaking on the reasons Mrs. Aluko was made the matron of the movement, the Coordinator and Secretary of the group, Mrs. Adenike Adedayo and Mrs. Yetunde Osatunberu said the former council chairman was a grassroot mobilizer and great motivator who believes so much in the course of women; saying she was a role model to many young female politicians in the state.
Other women who were honoured with awards by the movement were the Commissioner for Works and Transportations, Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun, member of Ekiti House of Assembly, Mrs. Titilayo Owolabi- Akerele and Engr. Abiola Oluayode who is the only female council boss in the state and also the chief supporter of the group in Ikole Local Government. Others were Hon. (Mrs) Shade Akinrinmola and Commissioner 3, Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Aramide Oyedeji Ojewole.
