Fayose’s aide blasts Ojudu, Says; “He’s unrepentant blackmailer, hypocrite”

Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has described the Presidential Adviser on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu as an unrepentant hypocrite and blackmailer, who should resolve issues with his immediate family before dabbling into matters concerning Nigeria and Ekiti State in particular.  Olayinka, who was reacting to Ojudu’s comment that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose was disrespecting President Muhammadu Buhari whom he (Ojudu) said was old enough to be his (Fayose) father, said; “Ojudu will be making the biggest political mistake if he believed that this time around, he will ride on the back of political treachery, blackmail and bootlicking to become the governor of Ekiti State.” The governor’s spokesperson said “Ojudu should rather advise President Buhari to go back to his farm in Daura, Katsina State if he has become too old to be corrected by Nigerians, who elected him and on whose sweat he is bei...

EKITI | Fayose Can Still Be Governor Till 2019, Mike Ozekhome Blasts Femi Falana

Mike Ozekhome , SAN, argued that Fayose could only seek to serve out in 2018 the seven months subtracted from his first tenure. He said, “The truth is that if I remember carefully, Fayose won the matter that his impeachment was illegal. And if it was declared illegal by a court, it means then that it never was. If a competent court declared the impeachment as null and void, it then means that the seven months for which he was impeached were illegally taken from his two terms. Therefore, I will say that where there is a right, there is a remedy. “So, once Fayose can prove that he was illegally removed and that illegality has been confirmed by a court of law, it means that in the eyes of the law, he was still a governor but was prevented from acting during the impeachment. He can therefore seek for recompense for those months to enjoy the unexpired residue of seven months for which his governorship was truncated. “Fayose may have said the statement as a politician to fly a kite, b...

NIGERIAN INTELLECTUALS; THE REAL ENEMIES OF NIGERIA.

By Charles Ogbu. World over, the development of any nation lies considerably on the shoulders of its intelligentsia. They are regarded as the gate-keepers of the cathedral of knowledge, the very conscience of the nation and the moral compass of the people. Politicians rule but only with the noble ideas and wise counsel of the intellectuals. Sadly, in Nigeria, one "good thing" we can easily attribute to the Buhari presidency is that it has clearly exposed most of these so called intellectuals, religious leaders, human right activists, civil society groups and labour unions as nothing short of a congregation of intellectually fraudulent morally bankrupt horde of doubled faced idiots who only act according to the dictate of their stomach. These ones are of a very distant relation with the term 'conscience'. They are not just part of Nigeria's problem. They are Nigeria's problem itself. They are guided by one rule and one rule alone and that is coins and gol...

Fayose berates DSS over arrest, detention of Ifeanyi Ubah, Says; “DSS becoming law unto itself”

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has condemned the Department of State Services (DSS) arrest and detention of the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Ifeanyi Ubah, lamenting that “the DSS is becoming law unto itself and dragging Nigeria back to 1984 when Decree 2 was used by the National Security Organisation (NSO) to dump Nigerians in detention without trial under flimsy excuses.” The governor, who described the DSS claim that it arrested and detained Ubah for inciting members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union to stop lifting petroleum products so as to cripple the economy and cause untold hardship to Nigerians as “nonsensical”, added that; “It is becoming obvious that if nothing is done to curb the lawlessness of the DSS, the agency will singlehandedly truncate democracy in the country.” In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said arresting and detai...

Buhari Has Difficulty Drinking And Eating, But Cabal Won't Let Him Travel For Urgent Treatment

Three insiders in the Presidency have told SaharaReporters that President Muhammadu Buhari is being fed intravenously as he has had severe difficulty eating and drinking fluids for several days.    The sources also disclosed that, although President Buhari's health had held up for a while after his return from an extended medical vacation in the United Kingdom, his condition has deteriorated in the last several weeks. They pointed to Mr. Buhari's eating and drinking problems that have left him too frail to leave his official residence at Aso Rock Villa to attend any official functions.    Mr. Buhari has been unable to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting three weeks in a row. Last week he also failed to attend the Friday Juma'at prayers because he had to undergo urgent medical treatment that had him confined to a medical room secretly set up inside the residential area of the villa. President Buhari was also conspicuously absent from the wedding ...

Celebration of a life well spent, as Lere Olayinka gives Mom befitting national burial at Okemesi-Ekiti

The loss of every caring and loving mother is especially poignant when it happens while the children are still very much ready and determined to give her (the mother) the very best of life in terms of care, support, love and even age-matching fruits of her labour. Apparently, it is never easy announcing the demise and burial of a caring mother, but this is the first step in honouring the soul of a departed mother whose memory cannot be forgotten in a jiffy but lingers. It was another epoch-making event on Friday as the final burial of the mother of a Media Exponent, Tycoon, Expert and Lead Vocal recorded the presence of prominent Nigerians, the who is who, the Nigerian Bigwigs, the movers and the shakers of Nigeria: State Governors, Ministers, Senators, House of Representative Members, State Assembly Members, Commissioners, Chairmen, other Political Appointees and enormous Gentlemen of the Press from several Media Outfits across the federation. The burial, undoubtedly brought t...

Senator Ojudu’s loyalists threaten to leave APC over lopsided federal appointments

Loyalists of the Special Adviser on Political Matters in the office of the Vice President, Senator Babafemi Ojudu in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State are said to be angry over the way and manner all federal appointments so far given to the State were cornered by members of the party that are loyal to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development and former governor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi. Ojudu’s loyalists are now threatening to leave the APC if the trend is allowed to continue and they are said to have made their position known in a meeting they held with the Presidential aide a few days ago. Multiple sources said Ojudu, himself was only keeping faith, hoping that something happened at the Presidency that will change the power equation and dislodge Fayemi from the Federal Executive Council. Ojudu loyalists were said to have been miffed by the recent appointments made by the President in the last three weeks, which went to loyalists of Fayemi, and t...
