HALLIBURTON: PDP WRITES US STATE DEPT ON ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT OF PRESIDENT BUHARI’S WIFE, AISHA

The PDP caucus in the House of Representatives, has written to the United States Government, to clear the air on the alleged involvement of the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, in the Halliburton bribery scandal.

The  caucus which routed its correspondence through the United States Embassy in Abuja, requested details of the deal , indictments and identity of the players.

Minority leader, Leo Ogor, made the disclosure in a telephone interview with Pointblanknews.com on Wednesday.

Ekiti state Governor , Ayo Fayose had alleged that the Aisha Buhari listed in the Halliburton scandal is the wife to the President.

Fayose had hit back at the President after his accounts in Zenith Bank was frozen by the EFCC on the apparent order of the Presidency.

But ex EFCC boss Ibrahim Lamorde had debunked the claim , and stated that the Aisha Buhari was one lady based in Virginia, the United States. He had also circulated a passport of the Virginia based Aisha.

The presidency’s sidestepped the allegation and  described Fayose as a mad dog.

In a dramatic twist, the Virginia based Aisha said in an interview with the Street Journal, that her passport was forged, and that if she were mixed up in the deal she would have been arrested in the United States.

Ogor stated that the move was necessary because the allegation was a brave embarrassment to the Presidency and Nigeria.

He said ” we are  interested in unraveling the Aisha Buhari linked with the Halliburton scandal.  linking the wife of the President to such fraud was scandalous enough to diminish the reputation of the office of the President and as such they want to get to the root of the matter”

In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
