Ondo APC Secretariat Turned Shrine Ahead Party Primary

Controversy rocking the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has taken another dimension completely as aggrieved members who sacked Mr. Isaac Kekemeke as the state party chairman, have turned the party Secretariat along Oyemekun road Akure, the state capital, to Ogun (god of iron) shrine with symbols of palm fronts and the likes tied across the length and breadth of the sealed Secretariat.

It was gathered that the aggrieved party members have made up their minds to keep the Secretariat under lock and key until the wish and decision of the majority in the party is allowed to stay.

The latest look of the Secretariat caught attention of the passersby early hour of today as the god of iron was well placed in front of the locked gate of the party Secretariat.

Speaking with one of the onlookers who refused to mention his name to our correspondent, he said, “Ondo APC can no longer trust Kekemeke. He has betrayed us already and we are ready to take this protest to any length to seek redress. He cannot come back here as the party chairman.

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is our leader but there is a limit to how far he can poke nose to the affairs of the party here in Ondo State. Enough of imposition every time. Why must Kekemeke remain in power after he had sold us to slavery? Why? This is just a tip of an iceberg compared to what we have in stock to display as long as this protest continues.

“If the national body of the party truly want APC to take over the affairs of the state by November 26, then it is high time the needful which is listening to the voice and yearnings of the majority is respected.”

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
