In his devilish quest to silence the opposition in the country, President Mohammudu Buhari has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes commission EFCC to rearrest one of the leading opposing voices in Nigeria, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in the court premises.
The arrest was done today 21st of Oct 2016. Immediately the judge had granted the Ife-born politician bail, and adjoined the case, EFFC rearrested him saying they have their order to do so from Aso Rock.
Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday re-arraigned the former aviation minister over alleged money laundering.
Fani-Kayode appeared before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Federal High Court in Lagos, on a 47-count charge. He, however, pleaded not guilty.
His counsel, Chief Ladi Williams, prayed the court to allow him to continue with the bail granted him by Justice Ramat Mohammed, who earlier handled the case.
Williams also prayed the court to allow Fani-Kayode the liberty to travel abroad at will for medical check up, as granted him by Justice Binta Murtala- Nyako, who also had handled the case.
With the rearrest of Chief Fani-kayode, pundits have now claimed that the presidency is fighting a political war against perceived opposing voices, instead of waging war against corruption.
Nigerians are now trending on social media #TheFearOfFFK saying Buhari and his government are afraid of dissenting views.
Earlier today, as early as 10am, Nigerians came out enmass and converged at the Federal High Court Falomo area of Lagos state in show of solidarity demanding an end to Buhari's tyranny, dictatorship and totalitarianism, chorusing this is not the 'change' they voted for.
