Plotting Fayose’s removal not in our interest – Ekiti APC chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has declared that any plot to remove the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose will not serve the interest of the party, calling on all party members to focus their minds on the 2018 governorship election. State Chairman of the party, High Chief Jide Awe, in his reaction to claim by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State that former governor and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi was behind a renewed plot to approach the Supreme Court for a review of its judgment validating Governor Fayose’s election, said the APC in Ekiti State will not support anyone embarking on wild goose chase of Fayose’s removal when another governorship election is close by. High Chief Jide Awe debunked the PDP claim and vowed that Dr Kayode Fayemi will never be part of any plot to bring the Supreme Court to disrepute by asking the court to review its own judgment when he knew that it lacked powers to do so. He said it wa...

The Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Mr. Lere Olayinka, has described the Minister of Mines and Steel Development and former governor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi as a “shamelessly shameless man, who ordinarily should be facing trial superintending over the looting of Ekiti treasury with reckless abandon during his four years as governor.” Olayinka, who declared that “Fayemi has never won any election in Ekiti,” said; “Even the primary election that gave him the Action Congress (AC) governorship ticket in 2006 was manipulated and those who did the manipulation are still alive. He was roundly defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007 and in the rerun election of 2009 until the governorship was handed to him through the most scandalous judicial manipulation in the history of Nigeria.” Governor Fayose’s spokesperson, who was reacting to Fayemi’s comment in a national daily, casting aspersion on the gov...

Bold Women For A Revolutionary Change -Olanike Adeoye Growing up as a teenage Yoruba girl, an Ekiti girl more precisely, I was passionate about developmental issues; civics, ethics, values and morals. I remember being shortlisted and taking home the third prize for a state essay competition, on the subject of ‘education as a tool for self sustenance and social development’ in my final year in secondary school. As a result of my ecstasy for a better society and my vehemence for positive change, people facetiously described me as not being feminine. Some even humorously said, ‘Are you sure you are a woman?’ In a way, my society was informing me that it was not expected of a woman to have as much fervor as she could, about the subjects of integrity and change. I am sure we are all familiar with the famous idea that a woman does not have to do so much, as long as she can keep a man to stay with her the rest of her life. As a ...

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has called on Nigerians to continue praying for President Muhammadu Buhari’s full recovery. Fayose  to Buhari:  Speak with me to prove you are healthy ...Nigerians will believe me

Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state has said that rather than shop for outsiders to speak with to prove to Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is hale and hearty, the president should be encouraged instead to speak with him(Fayose) " I advised the President to speak with me for the purpose  of convincing Nigerians that he is hale and hearty instead of looking for people outside the country to convince Nigerians." In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose picked holes in statements that Buhari had spoken in one week, first with the king of Morocco and next with the president of the African Union.  "If their problem is that they are looking for a credible person who can help them convince Nigerians that all is well with our President, Ayo Fayose is their best bet. Let the president speak with me. If I tell Nigerians that the president spoke with me, Nigerians will believe", he said.  Nigerians, he added, are getting suspicious of all ...
