Community Development: Fayose present Cheques worth #184m to 21 Ekiti Communities, facilitates restoration of power to Odo Ado


Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has presented cheques worth #184m(One hundred and eighty-four million naira) to twenty one communities in the state for community development projects through the State Community and Social Development Agency(EKSCDA).


Presenting the cheques at the government house arcade in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, governor Fayose urged the benefiting communities to make judicious use of the funds as stated on the priority list of developmental needs of the communities. The governor added that government officials will liase with community leaders to ensure compliance.


Amongst the beneficiaries of the self help community programme meant to fast track development at the grassroot are Ijurin Community, Ijurin(#8.68m), Agbangudu Community, Ijero(#8.94m), Esun Community, Esun (#8.58m), Temidire Community, Ikole(#8.88m), Ipao Community (#8.99m), Maryland Community, Ado-Ekiti(#8.62m), Osun Community, Osun(#8.867), Ilemeso Community, Ilemeso(#8.926), Erio Community, Erio (#8.99m), Eyio Community, Eyio(#8.969m), Ibedoyin Community(#8.2m) and Ayetoro Community, Ayetoro(#8.95m)

Others include Usi Community, Usi (#8.89m), Irorin Community, Ilawe (#7.43m), Surulere Community, Igbara Odo(#8.99), Ewu Community, Ewu(#8.99m), Ipere Community, Ipere (#8.65m), Ayetoro-Ilasa(#8.86m), Idamudu Community, Emure(#8.43m), Olojido Community, Emure(#8.47m) and Odo Emure Community, Emure(#8.97m).

Meanwhile, it was jubilation galore as the people of Odo Ado area of Ado Ekiti had power restored to their homes after 8 months of darkness. The restoration was made possible after governor Fayose intervened by engaging officials of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company.

Power was restored at exactly 2:30pm to the admiration of the residents who praised the Governor for his intervention. Governor Fayose urged residents of the area to ensure security of the transformer as well as regular payment of electricity.

Residents, including Mrs. Juliana Fasuba, Mr Seun Ademola amongst others thanked the governor for his intervention.
