Lack of Continuity in Ekiti Politics has made Me and My Community Suffer -Ologotun

Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Obas and the Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti, Oba Samuel Oladapo Oyebade on Friday said lack of continuity in Ekiti politics has negatively affected him and his community. The first class Oba made this known while playing host to Ekiti former Commissioner for Works and governorship aspirant, Mr. Kayode Oso in his palace.

Mr. Oso had stormed Ologotun's palace with some of his associates to preach the continuity gospel in accordance with the Ayodele Fayose political ideology and school of thought. He explained that only continuity can bring about sustained development as well as the realisation of mission and vision of the Fayose political institute.

Oso also admonished youths within ages 17-21 and those who have misplaced or lost their voter's card to take advantage of INEC's continuous registration exercise to empower themselves by getting a voter's card stressing that one's vote remains one's power in any democracy.

Oba Samuel Oladapo in his reaction said he understands 100% the importance of continuity in a democratic setting, himself having been a victim of lack of continuity in time past. "Engr. Segun Oni while in government said the road from Ogotun to Ipole be tarred, Ogotun to Efon Alaaye is about 15miles if I pass go through Ipole, the road was bulldozed and 5km of it had already been tarred but because Oni was outsted by the Appeal Court and Fayemi took over, the contract was cancelled and the road has since been neglected.

"By virtue of this neglect, to get to Efon Alaaye, I and my people have to first get to Igbara, Ikogosi then Aramoko before getting to Efon, imagine the time, resources and energy one would have wasted. Another example, Oni had a succession plan on chairmanship of the council of traditional rulers in Ekiti, the plan was from Alaaye to Arinjale and then Ologotun, when Fayemi came he cancelled it. Continuity is in my interest and I support it 100%", Kabiyesi Ologotun said.

Mr. Kayode Oso while addressing a large gathering of Ogotun residents who had converged on the palace to welcome him charged them to continue to support governor Ayodele Fayose for delivery of democracy dividends. On the governorship hopeful's entourage were a prominent son of Ogotun and Commissioner at the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Oluomo Dokun Bolarinwa, Special Assistant to the Governor on Economic Matters, Hon Folu Oguntoyinbo, Special Assistant to the governor on Economic and General Enforcement, Aremo Docky Ogunleye, Mr. Taiwo Alasonuyi and Special Assistant to the governor on Water Resources, Hon Dare Olomofe.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
