PDP Remains One Indivisible Entity -Duro Faseyi


The Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, Senator Duro Samuel Faseyi has said the erstwhile ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP remains an indivisible entity despite the leadership crisis rocking it.

Senator Faseyi who represented Ekiti North Federal Constituency II under the PDP between 2003 and 2011 at the lower house in Abuja described the challenges being experienced by the party as part of the elements of democracy which is not peculiar to just PDP urging members to remain committed, steadfast and more united than ever before.

Faseyi made these remarks at his Iludun Ekiti residence on Thursday while speaking with journalists after he hosted PDP leaders from Ikole, Oye, Ilejemeje, Ido/Osi and Moba being the 5 LGA that constitute Ekiti North Senatorial District.

The meeting which had notable past and present political appointees as well as party chieftains in attendance debated observations, challenges, strategies and solutions aimed at making the party stronger in the state.

Speakers at the meeting commended Senator Faseyi for his efforts at improving well-being of his constituents, especially the donation of transformers to communities in Ikun, Ikole and Iludun Ekiti. The senator in his response assured the people of Ipere Ekiti that the road linking the town to Iludun and Ido Ekiti will soon be fixed.

Highlight of the meeting was the passage of a vote of confidence on the state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose. A motion for a vote of confidence on the governor moved by Hon. Ayo Ogungbayi Smart(Ikole Ekiti) was put to a voice vote by Senator Duro Faseyi with all members saying Ayes in support of the motion.

Chief Akin Alonge(Ire Ekiti) thereafter moved a motion that a vote of confidence be passed on Senator Duro Faseyi, a voice vote seeing all participants at the meeting shout Ayes affirmed the belief of the constituents in the senator's leadership of the district.

Leaders at the meeting include EKHA Leader, Hon. Akinyele Olatunji(Oye Constituency II), Hon. Abiola Jeje(Ido/Osi II), State Vice Chairman, Hon. Gbuyiro Sunday, State Organising Secretary, Ayo Oladimeji, Ekiti PDP PRO, Jackson Adebayo, Executive Chairman, Ilejemeje LG, Hon. Gani, Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Economic and General Enforcement, Aremo Docky Ogunleye and Treasurer, South West PDP, Hon. Adeola Ogunrinde.

Others include Prince Tunde Aladegbami, Chief Fayigbe, Chief Olatuyi, Hon Taye Otulu, Mrs. Mary Dada, Mrs. Lucia Oluyede, Mr. Gboye Afilaka, Engr. Oguntuase, Alhaji Azeez, Hon. Niji, Hon Oladimeji, Hon. Ebenezer Oladipupo and Mr. Idowu Igirabata.
