Exco Dissolution: Bisi Kolawole hands over, Calls for Fayose’s Support

Former Ekiti State House of Assembly member and immediate former Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Bisi Kolawole has charged people of the state to support the vision and mission of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose to achieve a clean and dirt free environment. He also stated that a support for Fayose’s continuity agenda by means of successful transfer of power to any member of the Fayose Political Family is in the best interest of the state.


Hon. Kolawole stated these during a brief handing over ceremony in his office, Monday evening. The state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose had over the weekend dissolved the executive council he constituted on Dec. 03, 2014 with a directive that the former commissioners hand over to permanent secretaries in their various ministeries.


The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Engr. Olumide Ajayi at the event described Hon. Kolawole as a workaholic whose stay can never be forgotten in the ministry.

Appreciating all staff of the ministry for their cooperation and support during his stay at the ministry, Hon. Bisi Kolawole said it's been a rare privilege serving the people of Ekiti as a commissioner in such a ministry. "It's been a privilege, I appreciate everybody, I came in here as a student to understudy all of you here, most of you are seasoned civil servants and for someone like me, an ordinary politician coming from nowhere to come and head a ministry as complex as the ministry of environment, I want to appreciate God for the opportunity to work with you", he said.

Hon. Kolawole thanked governor Fayose for the opportunity given him to serve the good people of Ekiti. "I particularly give kudos to Mr. Governor who deemed it fit that I head this ministry, I can tell you he means well for this state, I enjoin you all to continue to support him", he stressed.

Describing his experience in the ministry as wonderful, the former Commissioner reiterated that the memory of working with the civil servants at the ministry will remain indelible. "Honestly, it's been a wonderful experience and working with you in this ministry will remain permanent in my memory, you are good people, you are fantastic people, I want to encourage you to sustain the tempo, I want to urge you to support the vision and mission of our governor to achieve a beautiful Ekiti State", he said.

Hon. Bisi K as he is fondly called prayed for the progress of staff of the ministry, he charged them not to read any meaning to the dissolution as it is normal in any administration. "Do not read any unnecessary meaning to the dissolution of Excos, it's a normal thing, it's a normal routine, this isn't the first time it will be happening and it won’t be the last", he said.

The General Manager, Waste Management Authority, Mr. Jide Borode in his remarks appreciated Hon. Bisi Kolawole, for his carrot and stick approach at getting results with prayers that God continue to be with him in his future endeavours. "Working with you have been a wonderful experience, the little I can say is that a lazy person can't work with you, you are very hardworking, I thank you Sir for always keeping us on our toes, it has made Ekiti cleaner, it has made us better persons, God bless you Sir", Mr. Borode said.

Other senior officials at the handing over ceremony include General Manager, State Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Seyi Adegbola, Director, Forestry, Mr. Felix Akinluyi, Director, Nature Conservation, Abiodun Adelana, Director, Environmental, Mr. Tunde Balogun and Director, Administration and Supply, Mrs. Owolabi.
