Fayose’s Chieftaincy Title: Ado youths warn APC over disparaging comments against Ewi

The Ado Progressives Union (APU) Youth Wing has counseled leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state to stop the party’s social media attacks on the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Adejugbe over the installation of the State Governor, Dr Ayodele Fayose as the Apesin of Ado Ekiti.

In a statement on Sunday, by its National President, Roland Adewale Falade, the APU Youth Wing, which described any media attack on the Ewi as an attack on the entire people of Ado Ekiti, said the social media attack launched against Oba Adejugbe and the Ewi-in-council yesterday, by the APC was uncalled for and in bad taste.

The APC, through its social media agents like Orebe Sunday Kola, Adesoji AngelGabby, Olufemi Aduloju and others had circulated a write-up titled; "Ado Names Fayose Prime Minister, Lawrence Anini, Oyenusi, Monday Osunbor, Evans Also Honoured" credited to The Falconer, an APC propagating New Media brand while Olufemi Aduloju, an indigene of Ado Ekiti said the Ewi was equating Governor Fayose with God by installing him as the Apesin of Ado Ekiti.

Reacting, the youths wing of the APU said; Obviously, the APC social media agents insinuated that the Ewi of Ado Ekiti installed armed robbers as honourary chiefs; by saying that; ‘While Oyenusi got Fiwagboye, Anini was named Atorise and Osunbor smiled home with the title of Gbobaniyi.’

It is disrespectful on the part of APC social media agents, who are working for the party’s spokesperson, Taiwo Olatunbosun to have referred to His Imperial Majesty, Ewi of Ado Ekiti as ‘The man crowning Fayose’ and whoever authored such an offensive write-up to disparage our revered monarch will not escape the wrath of all the ancestors of Ado Ekiti.

That’s the way the APC threw caution to the wind by openly disparaging the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye just because the man of God commended Governor Fayose for rising in defense of Ekiti people against the rampaging Fulani herdsmen and also abused Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola for visiting the governor in Ado Ekiti. They also disparage our father and great son of Ado Ekiti, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN).

On this attack on our revered Kabiyesi, Ewi of Ado Ekiti, by the APC and its social media agents, we demand an apology from the party.

While justifying the honour bestowed on Governor Fayose by Oba Adejugbe, the Ado youths said; It is on record that Ado Ekiti witnessed unprecedented development during the first reign of Governor Fayose, and still witnessing extraordinary and remarkable development in his second tenure.

The first dualized roads and 80percent of major roads in Ado Ekiti were constructed by Fayose, the man APC want us to hate. It is also on record that the governor donated world class amphitheater and ultra-modern hall to Ado Ekiti. He is constructing Ultramodern Oja Oba, and 1.3km flyover in Ado Ekiti.

These and many more we have benefited from the administration of the man APC want us to hate and we challenge the APC people to point to what they did for Ado Ekiti when they were in government.

Governor Ibrahim Dankwanbo of Gombe State also deserves honour for contributing immeasurably to the construction of the newly built ultramodern hall. Comparing these reputable and decent men with hardened criminals like Oyenusi, Lawrence Anini, Monday Osunbor, Evans, and saying Ado honored their likes (thieves) is bitter politics taken too far.

October 25, 2025 A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo (née Okeya), who was duly screened and cleared by the party’s National Screening Committee, has demonstrated uncommon party loyalty by stepping down for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and actively participating in the delegate congress held today in her Eporo Ward, Emure Local Government Area. Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
