Group counsel Osun PDP ex-factional chairman, Adagunodo to break his blood oath with Buruji Kashamu

A political group in Osun State, Osun Shall Rise Again (OSRA) has counseled the former factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Mr Soji Adagunodo to in the interest of the party, seek prayers from men of God to break his blood oath with Ogun East Senator, Buruji Kashamu.

This is according to a release issued after the group’s meeting in Ikirun, Osun State on Friday and signed by the Chairman, Comrade Oladeji Samuel Oladele.

The OSRA noted that it appreciates the commitment of Adagunodo to the progress of PDP in Osun State, but his major constraint has remained the oath he took when he collected N25 million from Senator Kashamu.

The group said that all those used as plaintiffs by Kashamu in the suit that caused PDP the Ondo State governorship election were paid N25 million each and they were made to swear to an oath inside coffin before the N25 million was paid.

It is the fear of dying like others, who have reneged on the oath they took with Kashamu that Adagunodo and Bola Ajao, who was instrumental to his (Adagunodo) acceptance to take the oath have remained in a dilemma as to whether or not to dump Kashamu and accept the setting up of caretaker committee in Osun State.

Apart from Adagunodo and Bola Ajao, others who took the N25 million after swearing an oath of secrecy and loyalty to kashamu are Biyi Poroye, Ademola Genty, Taiwo Akeem, Alaba Adelabu, Bowale Solaja, Otunba Segun Adewale and Ogunbiyi Adeleke Olasunkanmi.

We in the OSRA do not believe in any evil oath and we call on Soji Adagunodo to call the bluff of the oath he took with Buruji Kashamu and allow for the coming together of the two factions of the PDP in Osun State.

It is our position that if the Chief Bayo Faforiji led faction could come under the Adagunodo led faction during the Osun West Senatorial election because the Alimodu Sheriff faction was the recognized national leadership of the party, there is no reason the Adagunodo faction should not join the Faforiji faction now that the Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee is in charge of the party.

Even though we understand the fear of Adagunodo, Bola Ajao and others in his group who took the “sleep inside coffin” oath at Ijebu-Igbo, but with prayers from genuine men of God, nothing will happen to them if they seek the face of God and break the evil oath.

October 25, 2025 A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo (née Okeya), who was duly screened and cleared by the party’s National Screening Committee, has demonstrated uncommon party loyalty by stepping down for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and actively participating in the delegate congress held today in her Eporo Ward, Emure Local Government Area. Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
