Bring out your children for measles vaccination, Eleka tells Ekiti women

NMT Reporter 28/02/2018 Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka has charged Ekiti people to bring out their children for vaccination in order to prevent them against one of the major killer diseases, measles. Eleka gave this advise today during the flag-off ceremony of measles vaccine campaign (MVC) held in Ado Ekiti. Eleka, who was rousingly cheered by the crowd during his remarks said Ekiti mothers should endeavor to take their children between Nine (9) months and Five (5) years old for measles vaccination. "We must make sure that our children are properly vaccinated. Had it been I was not vaccinated when I was a baby, I may not have had the opportunity of becoming deputy Governor. ‘You’re Sabotaging My Assignment’ — Tinubu Letterbombs Oyegun

Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has written a scathing letter to the national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, accusing him of sabotage. TheCable reports that Tinubu, who copied the president, vice-president, senate president and speaker of the house of representatives, pointedly accused Odigie-Oyegun of contravening the spirit of the discussions both of them had at the party secretariat when President Muhammadu Buhari gave him the assignment of reconciling aggrieved members. Publish all properties recovered by EFCC, owners before selling them, Fayose tells FG

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has told the federal government to publish all the properties it claimed to have recovered and their owners as well as buyers of the properties when they are eventually sold. The governor, who said Nigerians were no longer interested in being governed with propaganda, said “Nigerians want to know how many properties were recovered and who bought the properties. Who authorized the sale? Nigerians want details, not propaganda because most of these properties have been sold and resold.” According to a statement on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “the federal government should create a website where all the properties recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and to whom they were sold will be listed so that by one click, Nigerians will have information.” The governor said it will difficult to trust the EFCC reports on recovered looted funds a...

A governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Segun Adewale, has insinuated that Ekiti was a failed state that can only be fixed by him. Adewale, otherwise known as Aeroland further insinuated through one of his campaign managers, Mr Tosin Jegede that all those who governed Ekiti State since it was created failed. Obasanjo’s coalition to open offices across Nigeria this week

The Coalition for Nigeria Movement will open offices across the six geo-political zones of the country this week, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt. The Director-General of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in 2015, Senator Ahmadu Ali, has also been named as the protem chairman of the coalition. The Director, Media and Public Communications, Mr. Akin Osuntokun, confirmed these during an interview with our correspondent on Saturday. President Buhari sacks two southern judges

Following recommendations from the National Judicial Council (NJC), President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the compulsory retirement of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court and the dismissal from office of Justice O.O Tokode of the Benin Division of the Federal High Court. According to a statement by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, the disciplinary actions on the two Justices are in pursuance of section 292 (1) (b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). Justice O.O. Tokode is also to refund all salaries and allowances earned illegally from December 2, 2015 when he was sworn-in as a Judge of the Federal High Court to date. “The President urges judicial officers to be alive to their responsibilities and eschew corruption in the discharge of their duties,” Mr. Shehu said. Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that God will visit the blood of the innocent people of Benue State and other States killed by suspected herdsmen on the killers and their sponsors, even as he reiterated his call for the restructuring of the country. Thaddeus Akinola Aina, one of the kids whom the professor had given gifts during his Christmas visit in December 2017 still recognised him as she shouted Eleka, Eleka and ran to her mother's shop. Like his boss (Chief Ayodele Fayose), the deputy governor heard the girl, moved straight to the shop, met four children, carried a girl who was the youngest among them and presented her cash gift while the mother, one other woman and the three other children in the shop were also blessed with cash.
