Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka has charged Ekiti people to bring out their children for vaccination in order to prevent them against one of the major killer diseases, measles. Eleka gave this advise today during the flag-off ceremony of measles vaccine campaign (MVC) held in Ado Ekiti.

Eleka, who was rousingly cheered by the crowd during his remarks said Ekiti mothers should endeavor to take their children between Nine (9) months and Five (5) years old for measles vaccination. "We must make sure that our children are properly vaccinated. Had it been I was not vaccinated when I was a baby, I may not have had the opportunity of becoming deputy Governor.

" I want to appeal to our nursing mothers, like it's being said, 'delay is dangerous'. We do pray, prayer is good, but the needful also must be done, and part of the needful is to vaccinate our children. We must also inform other women to bring their wards for the vaccination exercise," Eleka said.

Extolling the virtues of her Excellency, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, the deputy governor, and governorship hopeful described Mrs Fayose as home builder, and a Model for her generation, "you are an example of virtuous woman, home builder, a strong pillar of support for her husband. You are a model to women of this generation, I pray you will not be degenerated, you will continue to be better and better IJN".

Professor Eleka thereafter thanked the partners of the campaign and assured them of state's readiness. "I want to use this opportunity to appreciate and thank our partners. Like Oliver Twist we will always ask for more. I want to assure you that we will not disappoint you," Eleka assured.

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
