It was a carnival like event today in Igede Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government area of Ekiti state as over 200 APC members defected to the People's Democratic party, PDP.

The decampees, who all adorned themselves with Aso-Ebi said their decision to join the ruling party in Ekiti was borne out of the outstanding performances and leadership qualities of governor Ayodele Fayose.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Mrs Alade said despite the huge debt their party, APC bedeviled Ekiti with, Ekiti under Fayose is still hundred percentage better off than Ekiti under Fayemi.

Mrs Alade said continuity is no doubt needed to guarantee sustainability of rapid multifaceted developments, and successes being witness in the state, most especially in Education sector, where the state is performing brilliantly, security provision, infrastructure development etc

Welcoming the decampees to the People's Democratic Party, the Deputy Governor Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka said All Progressive Congress (APC) is cancerous, adding that it is a party that steals, kills and destroys, warning those who are still in APC to come out of the perpetual darkness they are.

The deputy governor who received the defectors from All progressive Congress to the people Democratic party assured them of fair treatment. Eleka assured them that PDP is the party of equal right, "immediately you become member you have same rights as those are have been here before you," he assured.

He said he was happy with the new members that they have taken a bold step to leave the darkness for light.

"APC is cancerous, it is a party that steals, kills and destroy. I congratulate you today that you have seen the light. APC darkness and PDP is light, darkness can never overcome light.

"When they were ruling this state, you all know how they ruin our economy, how they plunged us into monumental debt; how they threatened to sack our teachers, and they are still downsizing in the some of the states they are controlling," Eleka said

The deputy governor thereafter presented cash gift to the newest members of the PDP and charged them to keep winning more souls for the party.

October 25, 2025 A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo (née Okeya), who was duly screened and cleared by the party’s National Screening Committee, has demonstrated uncommon party loyalty by stepping down for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and actively participating in the delegate congress held today in her Eporo Ward, Emure Local Government Area. …As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
