Let us remain united for continuity, Eleka charges PDP leaders

As the Ekiti 2018 governorship election draws near, Ekiti State deputy Governor, prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka has charged PDP leaders to remain united for the continuity agenda.

The charge came in a meeting held in the conference room of the deputy governor on Monday with some selected PDP leaders of various wards in Moba Local government.

The meeting which was summoned at the instance of the deputy governor was meant to foster unity among Party leaders, and was also meant to charge all political appointees from the local government to return home and make themselves visible to their people.

Eleka in his address to the party leaders said the meeting was convoked because it was important for the progress of the party, (PDP)

" This meeting comes up because it is important for the progress of our party in Moba local government. I personally investigated some burning political matters, and I observed that some members of our party are not happy with the way politics in the local government was being played, though they are in the party, but the occurrence of issues like this would practically make unity and peace to elude us. It may also cause setback for the progress of the party. What we want is for all of us to be one and work in one accord," he said

Admonishing the political office holders in the meeting to be more visible at home, Eleka said, " Our people at home are unhappy that they are not feeling your political presence. I want all of us holding political offices to please go back home, move closer to our people, and be more alive to our political responsibilities at home."

Responding on behalf of the party leaders to the admonition of the deputy governor, Rt Hon speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly Pastor Kola Oluwawole thanked the deputy governor for the conveyance of the meeting and also promised they (Political office holders) would improve on their homecomings and mend fence where necessary. He thereafter pledged Moba's loyalty and total support for the continuity agenda.

Some of the important leaders at the meeting included the Honorable speaker, EKHA, Pastor Kola Oluwawole; commissioner for information, youth and sport, Lanre Ogunsuyi; Niyi Adebayo, former Moba council boss, Femi Ayeni, present Moba council boss, Jackson Adebayo, PDP spokesperson.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
