Kolapo Olusola gets certificate of return, Extends hand of fellowship to Adeyeye



Ekiti State Deputy Governor and PDP Candidate for the July 14 gubernatorial election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola has said welfare of the people, good governance and unprecedented development of Ekiti State will define his administration, affirming that there is a strategic plan by the Ayodele Fayose political family to ensure continuous and efficient development of Ekiti State.

Prof. Kolapo Olusola made these assertions at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja on Wednesday after he was presented a certificate of return by the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus. The presentation of the certificate which was first of its kind in the history of the party will henceforth be a norm for subsequent flag bearers of the party.

The PDP guber candidate in his acceptance speech reiterated his resolve to work with his co-contestant in July 8 PDP primary election, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

Describing Adeyeye as a gentleman with vast experience in politics, Prof. Olusola said he's ready to join hand with the for minister of state in taking Ekiti to a greater height. "I made it clear after the primary that it's a No Victor, No Vanquished situation.

"It is just normal that somebody will emerge as winner in any contest, I am privileged to have emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the PD at this time, I have extended the hands of fellowship to my brother and co-contestant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye whom I am going to describe as a very gentleman that is widely experienced, a man who has displayed spirit of sportsmanship.

"I am happy he acknowledged that the whole process was fair and transparent. I am ready to work with him to move Ekiti forward, he added.


The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus who was represented by the national deputy chairman(South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi lauded the governor Ifeanyi Okowa led electoral committee for a job well done.

Elder Akinwonmi who stressed that it's a new dawn in PDP said "the old order has passed away, we are now living in a world of change, the era of impunity in PDP has passed away, the era of imposition has gone into oblivion, we are in a new era of integrity and transparency as demonstrated in Ekiti, this is an era of doing things according to the rule of law. Dr. Okowa is an expert in conducting free and fair election, he has done us proud once again.

Akinwonmi congratulated Ekiti people for their display of maturity even as he lauded Prince Adeyeye, the co-contestant for his sportsmanship.

Akinyele Olatunji, member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon.(Mrs) Titilayo Owolabi-Akerele, Ekiti State PDP Women Leader, Mrs Doherty Yemi Afolabi and Ekiti PDP legal adviser, Barr. Sunday Olowolafe.
