Ekiti SSG donates lock up shops and boreholes to Community, welcomes defectors to PDP

31st June, 2018

Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr.(Mrs) Modupe Alade on Thursday donated 10 lock up shops at Aremo Market in Ifaki-Ekiti and 4 hand driven borehole to ease water problem in the community.

Speaking at the commissioning of the projects, Dr. Alade said she needed to give back to her people and that was why the shops were handed over to them, clarifying that her people requested for the boreholes to complement the efforts of Gov. Ayodele Fayose in providing water to the community.

The former Permanent Secretary also expressed confidence that the Ekiti Deputy Governor and PDP Candidate in the July 14, 2018 gubernatorial election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola will emerge victorious in the election. She said: "the mind of lfaki- Ekiti people are made up, we are tired of the inglorious reign of APC.

"They scrapped our radio station and University, Fayemi ruined our economy in Ifaki. Our people have made up their mind to send the APC into political insignificance in the state forever".

Deputy Governor and PDP Governorship candidate in July 14 election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola in his remarks commended Dr. Alade for showing love to the people.

He said he was not surprised that Dr. Alade is giving back to her people for that is expected of any ardent follower of governor Ayodele Fayose stressing that Fayose is passionate about development.

"Governor Ayodele Fayose is hyperactive when it comes to development, I am not surprised you took after him in terms of meeting the needs of your people. You have to study the needs of the people before deciding on what to do for them and that is exactly what our SSG has done.

"As a builder, I will say these market buildings are excellent", Prof. Eleka said.

The deputy governor also stressed that the SSG has set good example which other politicians in the state should emulate, saying what the SSG did was to project good image of the PDP and that of Gov Fayose.

He assured the people that more dividends of democracy will be witnessed in the state if voted as governor of the state.

Done with the commissioning, Dr. Alade led the deputy governor and other PDP leaders to join governor Fayose at the Palace Square in welcoming hundreds of defectors into the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
