I will perform distinctively if given opportunity to serve ~ PDP gubernatorial candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola

The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka has said he'll perform with distinction, if given the opportunity to serve as the next governor of Ekiti State.

"I have judiciously used the opportunity given me by Ekiti people to serve as deputy governor of Ekiti, I will surely perform distinctively, if given opportunity to serve as Governor.

"I supervised the most delicate and important sector (Education) and success followed. We came first in NECO back to back and we also excelled in WAEC examination, our product scored the highest mark in JAMB, and College of health and Technology aslo came first. If given the opportunity, I will build on the solid foundation already laid by Governor Fayose and Ekiti shall be an envy of other states," Olusola said.

The PDP standard bearer made this known when he visited some schools in Ado-Ekiti, in continuation of his visit to schools to mark his 50th birthday celebration with staff and pupils.

Addressing the teachers and the pupils, Prof Olusola said it was in his habit to celebrate birthdays with the less privileged, but decided to celebrate with children across the state this year, because this year was his last lap as the state's deputy governor and the beginning of his journey as the Governor of Ekiti state.

Admonishing the pupils, Prof. Olusola charged them to be like Samuel, who was Obedient, respectful and submissive to his parent. He charged them to face their studies and be good ambassadors of their homes, schools and their state.

Reechoing the stance of the state government in prioritizing workers' welfare, the deputy governor assured the teachers that, as the nation is witnessing economic improvement, the state will be better for it and backlog of salary arrears will be cleared.

"Some are saying I am going round the schools. Yes, I am going round the schools in Ekiti, because that is the major sector I am supervising. They can say whatever they like. As a teacher, I know the importance and significance of teachers in our society.

"They are using arrears of salary owed to campaign against us, but we are glad, we did not resort to downsizing, sacking or retrenching our workers as they have been doing in states they are governing.

"Some state pay half salaries or proportionately pay their workers. But we are paying you in full and all the arrears shall be cleared.

"My governor has said with faith, he would not leave the state a debtor of salary. I want you also to join your faith with ours and have faith that your salary arrears shall be paid," he said

The joyous teachers who could not hide their joy and satisfaction danced and hailed the PDP governorship candidate for his Omo-luabi attitude.

The teachers and the pupils of the all the schools visited were all blessed with Cash gifts, bags of Rice, exercise books, pen, and other items.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
