Ignore APC lies, I have no plan to proscribe ASUSS activities ~ Prof. Kolapo Olusola

Ekiti state Deputy Governor, Professional Kolapo Olusola has urged Ekiti teachers to ignore lies circulating by APC, saying he has no plan to proscribe the activities of Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools in Ekiti State.

He made this known today when he paid an unscheduled visit to African Comprehensive High School, Ikere Ekiti. Addressing the teachers, he said; being an active Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) member, he knows and values the importance of unionism.

The lies peddling around by the opposition party was that the PDP governorship candidate will ban ASUSS activities if he becomes the state governor. Disabusing the minds of the teachers from the wicked lies, Prof Olusola said he was not in the position to interfere in matter that had already been taken to court. He said as far as he is concerned, ASUSS has freedom of association.

The PDP governorship candidate noted that secondary schools teachers in this present administration, have in no measure, benefited more than the Primary schools teachers. He said only one primary school teacher had ever benefited from overseas trainings organized for schools, whereas secondary schools teachers the APC are trying to pitch against him had benefited immensely.

"Fayemi that was trying to pitch you against me said he does not believe in the credibility and performance of our teachers, he said our schools in Ekiti have turned to miracle centers.

"The hatred he 'Fayemi' has for Ekiti Teachers is still there, he has no regard for our teachers, that was why he was trying to badmouth the successes recorded by this government and by extension, our teachers.

"In PDP, we value and appreciate our teachers, we encourage and mobilize and motivate them to perform effectively. We organize seminars for them we train and retrain our teachers for effective and efficient service delivery, you can be rest assured that your welfare is Paramount to me, being one of you, I will take care of you," he said

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
