FUOYE KILLING: Does Erelu Fayemi have a Child, EGM Asks

Ekiti Grassroots Movement has condemned in its entirety the gruesome killing of two FUOYE students while showing their displeasures on lack of electricity by Nigeria Police

Reacting to the latest civil unrest in the student community in Oye Ekiti, the Ekiti Grassroot Movement, through its Director and Publicity, Comrade Adeola Adebisi said it was unfortunate that the first lady, Erelu Fayemi who's supposed to be woman of all could orders her security details to use live bullets on protesting students.

"Gone are those days when students were free to express their yearnings and displeasures regarding lack of electricity, hike in tuition and school fees, unnecessary intimidation and harassment of students on campuses, assault on female students by Male lecturers, and other Injustice being meted on students without being killed and intimidated," the group said.

Dada Kehinde Abiodun, a part one student of the Department of Crop Science and Horticulture and another were shot dead during a protest on Tuesday by security personnel' in the convoy of Mrs. Bisi Fayemi during her tour at Oye LG, Ekiti State

Calling on stakeholders to investigate why Ekiti State Government has being insensitive and intolerance to agitations, both from students communities, and other sectors that are not in tandem with the polices of the Governor, the group charges Governor Fayemi to be more proactive to governance in the state rather than being more of Diaspora.

The group alleged that kidnapping, killings and other unfortunate incidences have been happening since the inception of Governor Fayemi's administration.

"Even before the emergence of this government, many lives were lost during campaigns, more importantly, almost 10 students were killed during Fayemi's first tenure. One would wonder if those lives are being used for rituals.

"One would have expected Erelu Fayemi to have sent a condolence emissaries to the deceased family and reasonable compensations by now but unfortunately, she resorted to media damage control to change the narrative to whip up sentiment for herself," the group said

The group is aware of how the former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Fayose managed Eksu students while protesting the imposed 5k late registration fee and other payments"
