Kolawole storms Ijero, urges PDP members to close ranks

Immediate past commissioner for environment and former lawmaker representing Efon Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Bisi Kolawole has charged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State to come together for the utmost purpose of wresting power from those currently holding fort in the state.

Kolawole, a foremost contender for the party's state chairmanship said he was best positioned to bring together all the tendencies in the party if allowed to lead the party.

"The situation at hand calls for an individual who is politically deep, courageous and has the ability to reach out to all tendencies in our party. Such a person must have the persuasive magic to bring home, even all that have left our party, at one time or the other, for whatever reason", he said.

"This is because no faction can do it alone. I want to assure you, therefore, that I am in a vantage position to talk to everyone of them because none of them is my enemy. I have talked to the former governor, Dr Ayo Fayose;  I am in talking terms with the distinguished Senator Biodun Olujimi, Duro Fayseyi, other former members of the National Assembly, Baba Awoyelu, the pioneer Chairman of our great party, among several other tendencies. I have met with other acknowledged leaders who had reasons to leave the party in the past, I can assure us that in no distance time they shall return to the party", he added.

The intention, according to him, was to bring about real  repositioning of the party with a view  to winning future elections.

Hon. Kolawole said he was more than convinced that a faction could not go it alone if the party was to recover lost grounds and reclaim its glory, adding that all hands must be on deck for the realisation of the task.

The chairmanship hopeful who was well received by the stakeholders in the local government area was commended for his efforts at bringing some former party members back to the fold.

The party's stakeholders, while assuring him of good support in the local government also advised him to work with leaders of the party to ensure a level playground for all contestants in the forth-coming congress.

The former commissioner was accompanied by two of his colleagues in the last state cabinet, former Commissioner for  Utility, Hon Tunde Ogunleye  and Hon. Ayodele Michael his Trade and Investment counterpart.
