Stop Your Crocodile Tears On Murder of PDP Member By APC Thugs, Group Blasts Ekiti PDP Chairman

…….Calls for Ekiti PDP SWC resignation

Ekiti Grassroots Movement (EGM) has blasted the People's Democratic Party (PDP) State Working Committee under the leadership of Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase over the murder of Mr. Dotun Kosedake in Ikere Ekiti on Saturday,  during the local government elections, saying the PDP chairman and his ilk in the SWC were only shedding crocodile tears.

Dotun Kosedake was shot dead by rampaging APC thugs led by one Dele OPC, while three others, Ayeni Olumide (Salvation), Ayeni Gbenga (Special) and Abiodun Bukola sustained gunshots injuries and were rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital,  Ado Ekiti.

Reacting to the 7-day mourning declared by Oguntuase, EGM Publicity Secretary, Comrade Adebisi Adeola called on well meaning party faithful to demand an unreserved apology from the PDP state chairman for leading the party to a war out of his selfish interest.

EGM said the Oguntuase led-Exco should take responsibility for the casualties recorded during the predetermined local council elections and the humiliation of the party by the APC.

“Chief Oguntuase should be held responsible for the death of Dotun Kosedake and others who sustained injuries during the election.

"Information at our disposal confirmed that Oguntuase led-Exco had collected the sun of N200 million from Governor Kayode  Fayemi to ensure participation of the PDP in the predetermined council election so as to give it credibility.

“While we sympathize with the families of Dotun who was killed by APC thugs and other victims, who sustained various degrees of injuries, it is our demand that the  National Working Committee of the party should investigate the rationale behind leading the party to such suicide mission.

“In all indications, the present State Working Committee of PDP in Ekiti has failed in its responsibilities, hence, Oguntuase and his Exco should resign with immediate effect,” EGM said.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
