Fayemi's Sacking Episode; A killing Spree

Fayemi's Sacking Episode; A killing Spree

There is no gainsaying in the fact that the second coming of Fayemi as the executive governor of Ekiti state is a wind that blows nobody good.

This could be seeing in the spate at which disengagement/ sack letters has become a daily meal to Ekiti workers, in other words,it could be termed as a revisit of political vendetta on his perceived political enemies by extension pulling down of the already in place structures of past administration which has been  extended to the workforce which he believed are beneficiaries of last administration efforts in putting smiles in people's face through massive employment and infrastructural developments.

His dangling axe of retrenchment was first tested on those employed few months into the expiration of last administration into the Teaching Service and SUBEB claiming their employment to be irregular.

His last and recent disengagement exercise was planned and hatched in Ekiti State University where over 1,000 workers were unjustly relieved of their jobs as the year 2019 winds up in connivance with his political allies in the rack and files of the university community headed by the current vice chancellor of the citadel of learning in person of Prof Edward Olanipekun who is ready to hatch every plan of Fayemi administration to the letter especially in squeezing life out of individuals through indiscriminate sacking of the university workers but mainly targeted at those employed during Fayose's administration (2016-2018) but was later streamlined to 2016 employed staffs exempting the 2017-2018 because the wife of the university VC, Prof Edward Olanipekun's wife Mrs AyoAde Olanipekun is a beneficiary.

No fewer than 5 disengaged staff were hospitalized and one death was recorded.

The clarion call goes to well meaning individuals and lovers of Ekiti to wade in to this quagmire Fayemi and Prof. Olanipekun's sacking and killing spree they embarked on so as to forestalling the imminent dangers that may be the aftermaths of the affected staffs and their dependants which include their immediate families, societies, religious cycles and the likes.

Is this how the values promised to be restored by Fayemi is going to be effected by squeezing lives of the good and vibrant sons and daughters of Ekiti and by extension sending them to early graves?

This is wickedness

October 25, 2025 A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo (née Okeya), who was duly screened and cleared by the party’s National Screening Committee, has demonstrated uncommon party loyalty by stepping down for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and actively participating in the delegate congress held today in her Eporo Ward, Emure Local Government Area. Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
