Call for Audit of FASA Account, Long Overdue -Stakeholders

Stakeholders in Faculty of Arts Students Association, (FASA) have applauded the unanimous decision of the faculty management to audit the account of the Association today.

This is coming after a wide agitations from Fasaites to Faculty management to scrutinize the account of the Association given the alleged of misappropriation of funds.

The stakeholders made this known today after a joint sitting to review the postmortem result of the suspended Fasa election. The meeting which was well attended by students across all the departments, examined the remote and immediate causes of the poor preparation of Electoral Committee which led to suspension of FASA election.

The stakeholders said Comr. Oba should be made to give account of his stewardship and held accountable for any misappropriation to serve as a deterrent for others if found guilty in the course scrutinising the account.

The stakeholders said they were convinced  beyond a reasonable doubt that the incumbent president, Oba was not prudent in spending, called for independent panel to audit the faculty account.

"We have been reliably informed that Oba and others are feeding fat on FASA due. Why he has refused to pay members of ASRC their sitting allowance worth 150,000, couple with no provision for faculty incentive is worrisome"

Reacting, FASA election was suspended because the Electoral Committee did not prepare very well.

"The Electoral Committee    which out of ignorance, failed to adhere strictly to the constitution of the faculty. The committee released information on eligibility barely two days to the election"

"Why the rush in using the new constitution which has not been ratified by the ASRC, Dean of Student's Affairs and the CSO after the alleged racketeering of FASA receipt by Oba?

"The constitution that is available to us stipulates that FASA receipt and ANY other mean of Identification which could be any verified documents of Faculty of Arts can be used"

We call on Fasaites to remain calm and peaceful. "The Electoral Committee should respect the interest of Fasaites and stop playing game to impose uncommon candidate", they said

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. She explained that her decision to step down for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his wide acceptability across the state, sterling performances in office, and commitment to Ekiti’s growth and development, which she described as derivatives of continuity. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
