FASA Election: Stakeholders Allege Conspiracy to Install O’FOUR by Electoral Committee, calls for Review of Committee



Stakeholders in Four Departments, Theatre Arts, Philosophy, Religious studies of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti have condemned in its entirety the ill- preparedness of the Electoral Committee, headed by the SUB-DEAN of Faculty of Arts, Dr. Titi Falana, adding that conspiracy to impose O’FOUR for whatever reasons will not see the light of the day.


The Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA) election was suspended by the Dean of faculty after controversies on criteria for voting today.


Addressing students after the suspension of the election, today, they said the Chairman of the Electoral Committee; Dr. Titi Falana was not fit to conduct credible election. “Today, we have seen the conspiracy between the Electoral Committee Chairman, Dr. Titi Falana, EKSU-SU President, Mr. Gbadero and the incumbent Faculty President, Mr. Oba to install unpopular candidate against the collective interest of Fasasites"  


They said the constitution was explicit on the eligibility for voting during FASA and SUG elections. The constitution stipulated that FASA receipt and ANY other means of identification as a student will be the ingredient of voting.


"It is becoming obvious that Comr. Oba and others are planning to install O'FOUR to cover up some shady deals under their administration"


 “It is unfortunate that the Electoral Committee that is supposed to be the custodian of constitution, hell-bent on using only FASA receipt after a wide spread  allegation of receipt racketeering by Comr. Oba to his surrogates to rig the election”.


“Haven failed to conduct a free and fair election, we call on the Electoral Chairperson to excuse herself for unbiased staff of the faculty.”


Calling on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eddy Olanipekun and Chief Security Officer to use their good offices to prevail on the unlawful and anti Fasaites policies being orchestrated by Dr. Titi led-Electoral Committee, they said the faculty constitution should be adhere to strictly.


“In the case of those who have lost their receipt, Faculty Bursary should make available the comprehensive list of students who have done their re-validation, duly stamped to the newly constituted Electoral Committee with any Identification card to enable Fasaites vote their conscience”
