A Pressure group within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti, Integrity Caucus, has faulted the Minister for Solid Minerals, Chief Dele Alake over diversion and mode of distribution of 1200 bags of rice meant for citizens of the state.
A statement from the Publicity Secretary of the group, Michael Falodun on Sunday, said members of the group after its monthly meeting for the month of September raised concerns on the diversion of 1,200 bags of rice released by President Tinubu to Ekiti, to the private residence of Mr Adebayo Adeosun(A.K.A HELLO) in ikoro Ekiti, where it is being ferried around to unknown places and homes of members of the opposition parties in the state using FUOYE Buses made available by Mr. Kayode Ojo, the Pro-Chancellor of the University(FUOYE).
IC condemned such display of chicanery in its entirety and warned that such act is capable of causing division within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti and aggravating citizens' hostility against the Federal Government of Nigeria which is trying to ameliorate the hardship of fuel subsidy removal on the citizens.
The group expressed grave concerns that palliatives meant to cushion the harsh effect of the economy are being denied those who ought to benefit it the most and rather being shared for sinister motives by Chief Dele Alake and Mr Kayode Ojo, noting that it is inhuman to divert palliatives meant for citizens of the state under whatever motives at this trying period in the country.
The group called on the Honourable minister for solid minerals to join hands with the Governor of the state to provide succour to the citizens of the state in the face of the current hardship in the country.
IC urge Chief Alake to allow for even distribution of palliatives from the President through the right and appropriate channels in the nearest future.
