BAO-Walk Begins in Ikole-Ekiti with Bimbo Daramola at the Forefront

15th February,  2024

The highly anticipated  program, spearheaded by the former Nigerian legislator, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, to support the endeavors of Ekiti stakeholders in promoting the re-election campaign of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, gained significant traction and was well-received by the people of Ekiti as they turned out in large numbers to partake in the initiative known as "BAO-walk."

Despite facing criticism from some members of the APC, the program garnered substantial attention due to its controversies and trials.

The consistently dynamic and resolute Bimbo Daramola, who previously served as the Director General for Dr. John Kayode Fayemi in 2007 and during the rerun against PDP's Segun Oni, has consistently contributed to the success of the party and its candidates.

The BAO Walk represented another strategic initiative aimed at ensuring widespread participation of Ekiti residents from all corners of the state in processes that will steer the state towards continued development under the leadership of the incumbent governor.

Furthermore, the Congressman generously distributed 100 JAMB forms to students across Ekiti in Ikole, extending a helping hand to parents, and also distributed food supplies to numerous households.

The monthly programme which will go round the 16 LGAs of Ekiti State is expected to enhance the populace's health,  benefit  and sensitize them about the need to re-elect Governor Biodun Oyebanji in 2026.

The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
