Why Governor Biodun Oyebanji Deserves Re-election

By Bayo Awogbemi

Despite the virulent attacks based on sentimentality by opposition within and outside APC, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has made a strong case for re-election as his administration has executed over 300 projects, benefiting the people of Ekiti State.

This achievement has earned him praise from various stakeholders, including former governors and religious leaders. The governor has received endorsements from key stakeholders, including the Ekiti State APC Caucus, former governors, political appointees, and groups from various strata of the society. These endorsements demonstrate his widespread support and recognition of his achievements.

As a man of peace, Governor Oyebanji has united various political and religious groups in the state, mobilizing them for massive development. His leadership style has been commended by former governors, including Chief Ayodele Fayose, who praised his ability to bring people together.

The governor has shown humility and a willingness to listen, acknowledging the contributions of his predecessors and seeking guidance from them. He has also demonstrated accountability, recognizing the people of Ekiti State as his primary constituency.

His impressive performance, unity-building efforts, and endorsements from key stakeholders make a strong case for his re-election.

Nevertheless, individuals or groups that seek to divert attention away from the government's achievements and progress, often employ various tactics to undermine the government's efforts, create confusion, and spread misinformation.

Such detractors often disseminate false or misleading information about the government's policies, programmes, and achievements with a view to creating confusion by raising unnecessary controversies, making unsubstantiated claims, or promoting conflicting narratives.

Despite the presence of detractors, Governor Oyebanji remains focused on delivering good governance and implementing policies that benefit the people of Ekiti State.

The governor engages with stakeholders, including community leaders, traditional rulers, and civil society organizations, to build trust and promote transparency.

Governor Oyebanji's administration ensures that the government's achievements and progress are communicated effectively to the public, using various channels, including social media, traditional media, and town hall meetings. Only those who are on the frolics of their own and mischief will claim to be ignorant of Oyebanji’s achievements.
