"Ekiti Has Spoken” - Aluko Declares as State Endorses Tinubu, Oyebanji

...Says Ekiti has chosen continuity, unity, and visionary leadership

Ado Ekiti was agog on Monday, July 28, 2025, as Ekiti sons and daughters from across the state stormed the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion for the Statewide Endorsement Programme 2025, a colourful and symbolic affirmation of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).

Delivering the welcome address, the Chairman of the Statewide Endorsement Committee and former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Surveyor Abiodun Jacob Aluko, FCIML, described the gathering as more than a political ritual. He said it was a loud statement of unity and an expression of gratitude for purposeful leadership.

"This is not just a ceremony, it’s a declaration. A declaration of hope, of progress, of shared commitment to the future of Ekiti and Nigeria," Aluko said, while acknowledging the massive crowd that had gathered from all corners of the state.

Aluko, who spoke with visible passion, described the ongoing support for PBAT and BAO as a reflection of what the people have experienced across sectors, from infrastructure and education to digital innovation, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

“These are not theories cooked up in air-conditioned offices. These are lived realities.

"We are speaking on behalf of people who have seen roads constructed, hospitals revived, schools improved, and lives empowered,” he said.

The program, according to him, served as the climax of months-long endorsements from community leaders, political groups, traditional rulers, religious institutions, market women, pensioners, youth organizations, labor unions, and professionals, all converging with one loud voice to say, "Ekiti wants continuity."

Aluko noted that the leadership of President Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Oyebanji at the state level is tied together by a shared philosophy of people-centered development, inclusion, and pragmatic governance.

“Though they operate at different tiers of government, their governance style is harmonized by a singular philosophy: results-driven leadership. What we are witnessing is not accidental, it’s intentional, focused, and people-first,” he said.

He commended the tireless work of the planning committee and lauded the patriotism of all who made the programme successful, including security agencies, logistics teams, and various support groups.

To the people of Ekiti, Aluko had this to say: “Your presence here is your voice. Your applause is your endorsement. And your participation is a vote of confidence in the continuity of good governance.”

He ended with a call to decorum and peace throughout the event, urging everyone to remember the occasion as a testament to Ekiti’s unity, maturity, and collective desire for sustainable progress.

“Today is about hope. Today is about continuity. Today is about the future of Ekiti State and Nigeria,” Aluko concluded to resounding applause.

The atmosphere at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion remained charged as various cultural troupes, political leaders, and community stakeholders took turns to reaffirm their loyalty to the Renewed Hope agenda and to Governor Oyebanji’s transformational strides in Ekiti State.

Mrs. Omolayo, who was warmly received with an Ọ̀wọ̀ song by jubilant party members, expressed appreciation to her ward for the support they gave her when she initially declared her intention to contest for governor. While addressing the crowd, Mrs. Omolayo urged party members in Eporo Ward...

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
