Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, has expressed confidence in the re-election bid of his Ekiti counterpart, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), declaring that those who purchased nomination and expression of interest forms against him are merely contributing to the finances of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Ayedatiwa made the remark during an informal exchange with Senator Cyril Fasuyi when both leaders met on the same flight last week.
“Anyone that has obtained the nomination and expression of interest forms against my brother, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has only assisted our party, APC, to raise funds,” Ayedatiwa reportedly said.
His comment corroborates the position of the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio; and the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, all of whom have openly expressed confidence in Oyebanji’s chances of securing the party’s ticket ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
The Ondo Governor’s statement adds to the growing list of endorsements for Oyebanji, whom many party stakeholders have described as a unifier, bridge-builder, and leader firmly rooted in the yearnings of Ekiti people.
