…Promises to Lead Campaign Across 16 LGAs of Ekiti State
September 26, 2025
The cordial relationship between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) was brought into focus on Friday when Honourable Oyetunji Ojo, Chairman of the Federal Housing Authority and son-in-law to President Tinubu, visited the Ekiti State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ojo told the State Executive Council that President Tinubu was firmly backing Governor Oyebanji’s re-election, describing the bond between the two leaders as “smooth, cordial and unwavering.” He stressed that the relationship between the Presidency and the Government of Ekiti State would only grow stronger in the years ahead.
The FHA Chairman hailed Oyebanji as a “tested, trusted, and people-focused leader” who has delivered on his promises through achievements in infrastructure, human capital development and inclusive governance.
He pledged to personally champion Oyebanji’s second-term campaign by touring all 16 local government areas of the state to canvass support.
Ojo also announced that a new Federal Housing Project would soon commence in Ado-Ekiti, noting that Governor Oyebanji had already provided land for the project’s smooth take-off, a development he described as another fruit of the strong collaboration between the Federal and State Governments under the APC.
Former APC Chairman in the state, Chief Jide Awe, praised Ojo for his consistency in supporting Governor Oyebanji, while the current State Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Olusola Elesin, and General Secretary, Hon. Sola Garba Arogundade, pledged the party’s full backing for his campaign efforts.
Elesin, however, condemned aspirants who declared ambitions outside the party structure, calling it a mark of disrespect to the APC hierarchy.
The visit has further consolidated the APC’s base in Ekiti and reveals the confidence of both the Presidency and the people in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
