Tinubu Won’t Allow Anyone Stress His Son, Oyebanji ~ Rep. BAFEM

…says Governor Oyebanji Is a Tiwantiwa Leader Loved by All

Ado Ekiti
October 10, 2025

The member representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Richard Olufemi Bamishile, popularly known as Bafem, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in very high esteem, saying the President “won’t allow anyone to stress his son, Oyebanji.”

Bafem made this known while featuring on the popular radio programme Ṣe Ẹ Mọ BAO Dáadáa? on New Cruise 92.7 FM, Ikere Ekiti, where he clarified that the recent disqualification of some unqualified aspirants was in line with the party’s guidelines and the President’s commitment to discipline and internal order within the APC.

“President Tinubu confided in many of us that BAO is his son that he stands firmly with him. Yesterday’s disqualification of unqualified aspirants was a presidential directive. The President doesn’t want anyone to stress his son, Oyebanji,” Bafem disclosed.

The federal lawmaker explained that one of the aspirants, Engr. Kayode Ojo, fell foul of the party’s electoral guidelines, adding that the APC, under a disciplined leadership, could not have tolerated such breaches. He maintained that President Tinubu, being a man of order and structure, would never allow indiscipline or internal sabotage to distract or put unnecessary pressure on Governor Oyebanji.

“Engr. Kayode Ojo clearly violated the party’s electoral guidelines. The APC is a party of discipline, and such acts cannot be condoned. President Tinubu will not allow anyone to use indiscipline to stress his son, Oyebanji,” Bafem stated.

Describing Governor Oyebanji as a “Tiwantiwa Governor,” Bafem said all political leaders in Ekiti are rallying around him because of his humility, simplicity, and genuine commitment to the people’s welfare.

He urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to come out en masse on October 27 to stand solidly behind the governor during the party’s governorship primary, emphasizing that he remains a loyal party man who aligns fully with the directives of the party leadership.

Speaking further, the lawmaker said the challenge facing Ekiti has never been leadership but followership.

“When Otunba Niyi Adebayo was there, we rejected him and opted for Fayose. After Fayose, we said we didn’t want a governor with a strong hand, so God gave us Segun Oni, but we rejected him again, saying he was too gentle. Then Fayemi came, and we said he spoke too much grammar and that we wanted a Tiwantiwa governor. Now that we have one, some people are still calling for his removal,” he said.

He appreciated the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC for restoring sanity within the party and helping Ekiti people rediscover the importance of unity, discipline and loyalty.

During the call-in session of the programme, all the callers commended Governor Oyebanji for his giant strides across various sectors of the state, describing his leadership as humane, inclusive, and development-driven.

Bafem, while urging Ekiti people to remain calm, praised the NWC for its decisive intervention aimed at maintaining peace and order in the party, which he cheerfully described as “Well-Ooo.”

Ignore Rumours: APC Confirms Governor Oyebanji’s Name to Be Submitted to INEC on January 16, 2026

…As APC Spokesperson Reiterates Official Candidate List Ahead of Publication The APC Integrity Caucus has moved to dismiss what it describes as a reckless and senseless rumour being circulated by a few individuals posing as party members. The gossip, they said, claims that the party “does not intend to submit” the name of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement released on Thursday, November 14, 2025, the caucus said such claims are baseless and should be ignored by every well-meaning member of the public. “Since the successful conduct of our governorship primary on October 27 and the ratification by authorised delegates on October 29, some mischief makers have been whispering that the party will not submit Governor Oyebanji’s name to INEC. This is completely false,” the statement read. The caucus emphasized that the APC operates according to a clearly defined timetable, which specifies the dates for submissio...
