Fayose approves disbursement of School improvement grants

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has approved the disbursement of 2015 school improvement grants  of N700,000.00 to 120 public secondary and N215,000.00 to 520 primary schools across the state.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Jide Egunjobi on Wednesday 17th August, 2015 at the Sensitisation program organised by the ministry for School based Management Committee of the affected schools at Ministry Conference and Christ School Hall in Ado Ekiti.

Egunjobi said Fayose graciously approved the disbursement so that beneficiaries would during the coming holiday procure teaching aides that could positively impart on the performance of students and pupils. He said Governor approved the sensitisation so that there would be transparency in the the procurement of the materials.

The materials to be procured are 60 leaves big notes for pupils and students, verbal and qualitative reasoning for pupils, mathematical sets, WAEC/NECO Solutions, Chalks among others. These materials are from the School Improvement Plan ( SIP ) .

In her remarks, the  Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Adekunbi Obaisi  told the representative of the schools to remember that he took the government time to secure the grants from the world bank programme SEPIP. She however implored them to spend the grants judiciously.

While commending Ekiti State Government on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chief Olatunji Adeyemi and Mrs. Adeyemi C. O. thanked the government and promised to make judiciously use of the grants.

In her closing remarks, the SEPIP project's Coordinator,Mr Ojo O. T. appreciated the participants for their patience. In attendance were Mr. Ajiboye S. A, the Director PR&S SUBEB and other senior staffs.
