A Pressure group within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti,  Integrity Caucus, has faulted the Minister for Solid Minerals, Chief Dele Alake over diversion and mode of distribution of 1200 bags of rice meant for citizens of the state. A statement from the Publicity Secretary of the group, Michael Falodun on Sunday, said members of the group after its monthly meeting for the month of September raised concerns on the diversion of 1,200 bags of rice released by President Tinubu to Ekiti, to the private residence of Mr Adebayo Adeosun(A.K.A HELLO) in ikoro Ekiti, where it is being ferried around to unknown places and homes of members of the opposition parties in the state using FUOYE Buses made available by Mr. Kayode Ojo, the Pro-Chancellor of the University(FUOYE). IC condemned such display of chicanery in its entirety and warned that such act is capable of causing division within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti and aggravating citizens' hostility against the F...

Ogun Exhibiting Attention Seeking Disorder - Group

A group within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti, Integrity Caucus, has described a shadowy Gubernatorial Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  in Ekiti State,  Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun as suffering from Attention-Seeking Disorder(ASD). A statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Group, Michael Falodun, made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Sunday expressed concerns that the frequent tantrums from the PDP Gubernatorial Aspirant are symptoms of Attention-Seeking Disorder(ASD) which ought not to have followed the aspirant into adulthood. The group commended the media handlers of the Ekiti State Governor for their decision not to feed her attention cravings by constantly ignoring her inconsequential tantrums but focusing on spreading the news of the wonderful performances of Oyebanji's administration. The group noted that Ogun lacks the integrity to dictate the payment of the new minimum wage to Oyebanji, when her party left more than five months arrea...

Ekiti PDP: A party without a leader leading the leaders

By Olufemi Alonge Alonso 2nd July, 2024 It is crystal clear that the major problem of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti is leadership. PDP is now a party that every member is a leader. It is saddening that the party could be divided to the extent that no particular leader is leading the array of leaders in the party. When Senator 'Biodun Olujimi was at the National Assembly, she tried to take the leadership of the party from former governor Ayodele Fayose but her faction was not strong enough to silence the Afao man. The power tussle between Fayose and Olujimi is the reason the party is where it is now. It is glaring that many people in the party are not backing the two-term governor ( Fayose) to lead the party anymore while those who believe in Olujimi's leadership are infinitesimal. Senator 'Duro Faseyi lacks the wherewithal to pick the party from the floor while the 2018 Governorship candidate of the party, Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka is not fin...

Ending the Exploitation of Faith: Advocating for Ethical Practices

By Debola Akingbade   June 30, 2024 In today's world, the manipulation of faith for personal gain has become alarmingly prevalent. Human souls, seeking solace and spiritual fulfillment, often find themselves vulnerable to those who exploit both their physical and emotional needs through religion.  This exploitation manifests in various forms, from threats of eternal damnation to coercive demands for financial contributions under the guise of divine obligation. Leaders adept at exploiting these vulnerabilities twist religious teachings to fit their own agendas, creating a dependency that undermines the true essence of faith.  Instead of nurturing spiritual growth and propagating genuine community, these practices sow fear and dependency. What Christ originally commissioned us to preach is clear: the Kingdom of God/Kingdom of Heaven, the Love of Christ, His sacrificial death on the cross according to scripture, His resurrection on the third day (1 Corinthia...

Intra-party squabbles Tear Ekiti PDP Apart Ahead of Congress

Ado-Ekiti, May 19, 2024 As the Ekiti State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) gears up for its crucial Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses, the party is engulfed in an intense internal crisis.  Over the past two weeks, mounting tensions and power struggles have cast serious doubt on the party’s ability to present a united front. A party insider revealed the depth of the conflict, stating, "How can an individual boast of having the entire State Working Committee (SWC) in her pocket? It’s been said that every executive member has a price tag."  The source continued, "This is not acceptable at all. We would rather destroy everything than let one person dictate the direction of the party." This sentiment has sparked significant unrest among party members, many of whom are deeply concerned about the implications of such central control.  "We cannot allow an individual to take total control of the party. The executive must act in ...
