The Director General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency, Hon. (Barr.) Tajudeen Akingbolu, has taken a major step toward addressing transportation challenges in Ekiti State by seeking collaboration with Oyo State.  As part of his mission to create a sustainable and efficient transport system, Hon. Ekiti Workers to Receive N70,000 Minimum Wage in December

Ado-Ekiti, December 3, 2024 The Ekiti State Government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of workers with the implementation of the N70,000 new minimum wage set to commence on December 1, 2024. Governor Biodun Oyebanji disclosed this during a media interaction in Ikere Ekiti, in response to the ongoing nationwide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over non-implementation of the wage in some states. He assured workers that Ekiti State had fulfilled all necessary requirements to ensure a seamless rollout. “In Ekiti State, we have signed an agreement with labour, and the implementation and payment of the new minimum wage will start on December 1. We couldn’t commence earlier because it was not budgeted for. However, I have now signed the appropriation budget that includes the new minimum wage, and we are good to go,” Governor Oyebanji said.
