I am coming to serve Ekiti people, their welfare comes first -Eleka

30th May, 2018 Ekiti State Deputy Governor and PDP Candidate for July 14 gubernatorial election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola has reiterated his determination to selflessly serve Ekiti people when he's given the mantle of leadership on October 16, 2018 saying God has sent him to Ekiti State to serve and the welfare and interest of Ekiti people comes first on his agenda. Prof. Kolapo stressed these at the deputy governor's office on Wednesday while addressing representatives of teachers, LG Staff, Staff of Parastatals and civil servants resident in Ado-Ekiti. The meeting was conveyed at the instance of Osoko Mass Movement under the leadership of its Ekiti State Coordinator, Hon. Wale Ayeni. Speaking on salary arrears being owed Ekiti workers, Eleka said for 24 years he worked as a lecturer and knows the importance of salary payment hence his need for no lecture on the topic. He assured workers that outstanding salaries will be cleared immediately funds are available. "Fo...

From Ondo to Ekiti, this is the first flyover

Olufemi Alonge Alonso When Dr. Ayodele Fayose was declared winner of 2014 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, some elites who associated themselves with the defeated governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi began writing  short and long epistles with well- polished grammar to tell the world how bitter they were to see Fayose who's not in  their 'class' disgrace their man in all the sixteen local government areas of the state. They started with E- eleven but the evil group could not do anything to stop him from becoming the governor. They fabricated unintelligent lies, one of them being that he slapped a judge but the concocted lie couldn't stop him from moving on. The 19 APC lawmakers were too weak to execute their wicked plan on the man who is smarter than them all, well-known and loved by the people. Through the man ( Fayose), Ekiti is now witnessing what no one among his perpetual enemies ever thought was possible in the state. It is necessary to state that by th...

Fayose on the verge of setting another gargantuan record in Ekiti State

Olufemi Alonge Alonso One can only set a record if he is the first or the only person to achieve a certain feat, also before a record could be said to be broken, another person must have surpassed the achievements of the former. The lovers of football or supporters of Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo will understand my gist here. In the case of Gov. Peter Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, records are just being set and in a couple of days he might set another landmark record by being the first governor in the history of the state to endorse, work and use his structure to install his deputy governor as governor. It is no more news that Fayose is the first person to defeat two incumbent governors in different elections. It won't be out of place to reemphasize that the first and only flyover bridge in Ekiti which will be commissioned tomorrow is Fayose's initiative. We need no one to tell us that the only computer village in the state (Fayose Market) was constructed by...

Ekiti 2018: APC is missing it

Olufemi Alonge Alonso In football parlance,  a shot can ricochet off the goal post. At the moment, let me say some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have started playing off target shots with the belief that the former Minister of Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro will furnish them with the information that will put an end to the political influence or annihilate the solid structure of Gov. Peter Ayodele Fayose. The belief of the average APC   faithful in the state  is that once Fayose is prevented from using his popularity and general acceptability amongst Ekiti electorates to install his deputy, Prof.  Kolapo Olusola-Eleka who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July 14 election that all will be over for him. They thought Obanikoro played a key role in the election that ushered- in Fayose as a governor in 2014. At this juncture, permit me to say that only a fool will say that Fayose rigged 2014 election because the election was so credible...

Kolapo Olusola gets certificate of return, Extends hand of fellowship to Adeyeye

9th May, 2018 Ekiti State Deputy Governor and PDP Candidate for the July 14 gubernatorial election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola has said welfare of the people, good governance and unprecedented development of Ekiti State will define his administration, affirming that there is a strategic plan by the Ayodele Fayose political family to ensure continuous and efficient development of Ekiti State. Prof. Kolapo Olusola made these assertions at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja on Wednesday after he was presented a certificate of return by the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus. The presentation of the certificate which was first of its kind in the history of the party will henceforth be a norm for subsequent flag bearers of the party. The PDP guber candidate in his acceptance speech reiterated his resolve to work with his co-contestant in May 8 PDP primary election, Prince Dayo Adeyeye. Describing Adeyeye as a gentleman with vast experience in politics, Prof. Olusola said he...

Ekiti, not about Fayemi nor Oni

Let me start this piece by praying for the people who lost  their beloved ones during the 2007 gubernatorial election and the 2009 re-run election  in Ekiti State, may  God continue to console them. Also, those who are still battling with the injuries they sustained during these elections, especially the guy from Ido-Ekiti whose leg was amputated, may God heal their wounds. The two key players then were Engr. Segun Oni and Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Engr. Oni was the candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) while Dr. Fayemi was the flag bearer of the Action Congress (AC). Oni was not the original winner of PDP primaries. He came 3rd but because he was destined to be a governor at that time; he was favoured as President Olusegun Obasanjo made him his preferred candidate and imposed him on Ekiti people. He (Oni) won the general election, but his opponent (Fayemi) didn't concur with the results of the election as he filed case against him at the election Petition Tribunal ...

Eleka: The man destined to take over from Gov. Ayodele Fayose

Olufemi Alonge (Alonso) As every political party in Ekiti State embark on series of calculations and strategies before going into political battle field where people will choose who leads them for the next four years. I will like everyone to know that the man destined to succeed Gov. Ayodele  Fayose is already known to those who are spiritually and politically inclined. The word "destiny" which some politicians never believe works in politics is what will pave the way for continuity in Ekiti State. The story of the Biblical Joseph and that of a former head of state and  President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo gave me great belief in the power of destiny in politics. Due to what  they were destined to be, the duo were jailed and after they were released from prisons, they ruled over the people who thought all was over  for them. OBJ spent eight years as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and since the man  left office in 2007, he...

Ekiti 2018: Eleka, the best gubernatorial aspirant

02, May 2018 Femi Alonso As some of us who are soccer lovers will never agree on who is the best between the Argentine ace footballer, Lionel Messi and the Portuguese superstar, Christiano Ronaldo, so a plethora of question will arise especially from the people who didn't share same interest with me as to the barometer or yardstick I used in measuring the best amongst the arrays of contestants planning to succeed Gov. Ayodele Fayose on October 16. Without any fear of contradiction, let me say it loud and clear once again that the only professor amongst the aspirants is Prof. Kolapo Olusola Olubunmi (Eleka). And Ekiti as the fountain of knowledge has a right to be governed by one of her best brains. The young man is not just the most humble, loyal and committed aspirant in Ekiti; he's the first deputy governor in the state that his boss ever vouched for and pushed forward to succeed him. No deputy governor in the state ever enjoyed the type of grace Eleka enjoys toda...

Ekiti continuity agenda will pave the way for capacity building

The founder of Akosile Vanguard and the Education Scribe of Efon Local Government, Chief Akosile Olubunmi has said that continuity agenda of Gov. Ayodele Fayose will pave the way for more capacity building and not competency test. He made the statement in Efon on Monday during the empowerment in the local government organised by Akosile Vanguard in support of Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka. He said he was doing this to show his appreciation for the appointment given to him and to support the continuity agenda of Gov. Fayose. He appealed to teachers in the local government not to derail in their support for Gov. Fayose and come out on July 14 to vote in Prof. Kolapo Olusola as the governor of the state. He said teachers should have it in mind that it was better to be owed than to be sacked. In his remarks, the PDP Chairman in the local government appealed to party members to remain focused and ensure they protect their voter's cards. The President of Positive Minds Clu...
